00:00:00.000 --> 00:02:03.000
<v Speaker A>Calamity came to neo bakar 3000 years ago and was thwarted only through great sacrifice. The Omarim Colossal Planetary Guardians used their magic to drive back destruction and protect the planet's future, but at the cost of eternal petrification. Even with this sacrifice, the world was changed. Continents and seas entirely reshaped. New flora and fauna. And something else, something entirely unknown. Monsters with incredible power and a hunger for human souls began to break into reality. They could not be harmed by spear or arrow, and unlike the Omuraim, humans had no magic with which to fight them. Until one day, two young friends heard the voice of an Omrim. She tasked them to travel together to collect shavings from each of her brethren and to forge a weapon that would carry the songs of the dead and grant them great abilities. They would become wardens of reality. These Sooth Wardens are now the protectors of all humankind. Linked together, dirge in hand, they work to bring an end to the cursed monsters. Welcome everybody to Goblets and Gays. We are playing a special three episode miniseries of Sooth Wardens by our beloved token straight friend, Navarcique Jackson. This episode is a session 00. We've already gone over safety and now my players and I are going to be walking through character creation. Then the next two episodes will be actual gameplay. I am not Aubry. This is Alyssa Gming for my first time on Goblets and Gays but my second time on Sooth Wardens. I use they them pronouns and can be found online at a disasterqueer and I'll pass it to my players to introduce themselves starting with Dusty.

2
00:02:03.000 --> 00:02:27.000
<v Speaker B>Hello, I'm Dusty. I use they them pronouns. I am also not Aubrey surprisingly. And this is my second time being a player for Suit Wardens which I'm very excited for. From our I guess token straight from our Suit Jackson.

3
00:02:27.000 --> 00:02:31.000
<v Speaker A>You know who is Aubrey though? Is Aubrey. Please introduce yourself.

4
00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:40.000
<v Speaker C>Hi, it's me Aubrey. Who is Aubrey? I use she her pronouns and I'm very excited to try this game out.

5
00:02:40.000 --> 00:02:44.000
<v Speaker A>And our final player, Aki.

6
00:02:44.000 --> 00:03:13.000
<v Speaker D>I'm also not Aubry. Yeah, I'm Aki. She her pronouns. I know what I thought I knew about soothe Wardens. I was actually wrong so I have no idea what I signed up for but I'm happy here nonetheless. Navarre, if you hear this, how dare you be a good father. That's it. I just keep doing that meme so I'm just going to do that too.

7
00:03:13.000 --> 00:04:39.000
<v Speaker A>Okay, so what is Sooth Wardens? It is not a game about you Being bonded to an animal companion. It is a game, which is what Aki thought it was. It is a game about you being bonded to other people. It is specifically a diceless, luckless game where you manage two resources, heart and stamina, in order to investigate and fight monsters known as breakers. It's typically a game for two players in a gm, but we're using a variant rule that introduces a third player into the mix, and we'll talk about that a little more in a second. So y' all are playing Sooth Wardens or wardens, humans who've heard the Song of the Omrim and heeded its call, learning to channel their magic in order to protect the world from Breakers. To start, before we get into the actual character sheet, let's talk a little bit about your characters in general. You are a group of three who are magically bonded so that you hear each other's thoughts and feel each other's emotions, and through that bond, you're able to channel great magic and strength. But who are you and how have you gotten together? How long have you been together? How long have you been wardens? What is the vibe?

8
00:04:39.000 --> 00:05:22.000
<v Speaker B>I. Because I've already played this game, I wanted to be, like, the mentor type. So, like, the third, like, the uncle, basically, that I think for the Hopper, there's, like, becoming a tooth warden, if I remember correctly. Like, there's lots of different ways to do it. Like, sometimes it just happens where you can train to be a warden. There's also people that could very easily bond. So, like, I'm wondering maybe that I was already a mentor to one or both of you as just a normal person. And then I started hearing the Song of the Oyram and then became awarded as well. Is like, something that I wanted to pitch to y'. All. And I'm saying it because that's just a pitch.

9
00:05:22.000 --> 00:05:27.000
<v Speaker C>So, I mean, I like it. My. My pitch so far is Adora from She Ra.

10
00:05:27.000 --> 00:05:39.000
<v Speaker B>If she was a witcher, I know it's a witcher. I don't know. And this is Dora the Explorer.

11
00:05:39.000 --> 00:05:48.000
<v Speaker D>No, but also still played by, like, still at least voiced by a Latin. So you're. You're. You're. You're on point.

12
00:05:48.000 --> 00:05:52.000
<v Speaker A>That way, Dora the Explorer could be a witcher.

13
00:05:52.000 --> 00:05:56.000
<v Speaker B>I agree.

14
00:05:56.000 --> 00:06:55.000
<v Speaker D>Adora. Dora through hands. Not Adora. Adora also threw hands, but in, like, a lesbian way. I don't know what I'm doing for being honest. I tried to think of ideas, but, like, they weren't really catching any vibes. A big part of Me is like, what if I played monster hunter again for a little bit? So that's I think what I want to do. Like a general adventurer, like, yes, answering the call type, but someone who's maybe has done it for a while. So, like, if we had to number who is who, who was like the first mentee, I think that would be me. And so I have. I'm a bit more seasoned. That's what I'm thinking. At the very least, right now, I'll

15
00:06:55.000 --> 00:06:57.000
<v Speaker C>be the brand new one.

16
00:06:57.000 --> 00:07:45.000
<v Speaker A>Amazing. Perfect. So one question that I have is it sounds like Aki and maybe Dusty rather. Let me backtrack. In the world of soothe wardens, there are academies where you can go to study to learn basically how to be a warden once you hear the call. But you can also there are people who make pilgrimages on their own, never go to school, just go out and start collecting these shards and building their weapons and going through it that way. Do you think that you went to warden school? Yeah.

17
00:07:45.000 --> 00:07:54.000
<v Speaker D>Warden school makes sense, right? Especially for going mentor and two mentees.

18
00:07:54.000 --> 00:08:08.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, I. I think so. That makes sense for my character vibe as well. You also down to be a college graduate. I guess I kind of like the

19
00:08:08.000 --> 00:08:16.000
<v Speaker C>idea of playing a character that's just kind of stumbled into it and is figuring it out thanks to like the other two people.

20
00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:17.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah.

21
00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:22.000
<v Speaker A>And I think that that's a fun dynamic for having three of y'. All.

22
00:08:22.000 --> 00:08:44.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, that'd be like. So then maybe instead of me being like the person that like was the last to be bonded, it was like Aki and I as like mentor and student. And then we stumbled upon Ari's character, I don't know, fighting, Trying to fight a breaker by themselves.

23
00:08:44.000 --> 00:08:48.000
<v Speaker D>So is. So Aubrey's the Hopper?

24
00:08:48.000 --> 00:08:53.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, I think hopper is the term for the three person in general.

25
00:08:53.000 --> 00:09:01.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, that's what I'm looking at right now. Hopper is a rare third bond. So I'm like, that means Aubrey is the Hopper in this situation.

26
00:09:01.000 --> 00:09:04.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah.

27
00:09:04.000 --> 00:09:14.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. I'm switching you around then. Aubrey, you are third on the character creator. And Dusty, you are second sick.

28
00:09:14.000 --> 00:09:16.000
<v Speaker B>My name is on there twice. Hell yeah.

29
00:09:16.000 --> 00:09:18.000
<v Speaker A>It's not anymore. Refresh your browser.

30
00:09:18.000 --> 00:09:20.000
<v Speaker B>No longer Aubrey.

31
00:09:20.000 --> 00:10:55.000
<v Speaker A>Good. Yeah. So we keep talking about Hoppers, which are me finding it in the PDF. But like we've talked about, this is usually a game for two players who are linked. A hopper is a rare third person who can join a link as well and has an easier time hopping between our realm and which is called the sooth and the break, which is the realm where the breakers are. The reason that this is important is because in order to fight a breaker, you have to fight it both in reality in the sooth, and in the break at the same time. If you don't, it might sort of recollect itself and come back and kill you even stronger. Which is why you need two wardens, at least one in the break, one in the soothe, and then the hopper has the ability to travel between those two places more easily, so can help out people on either end more easily, basically, is the logic there. But, yeah. So how long do you think that y' all have been together? I mean, obviously it differs for the first two and for Aubrey, but.

32
00:10:55.000 --> 00:11:17.000
<v Speaker B>How far into your training, Aki, do you think you want to be? Because I feel like we found Aubrey maybe on not, like, our first mission to find a breaker, but, like, maybe a couple in after. You're already a little bit more experienced, but do you still want to be, like, this is your first year of being a warden or a little bit more?

33
00:11:17.000 --> 00:11:54.000
<v Speaker D>I want to be, like, a little bit more, like, maybe, like, two years into being a warden. So, like, I'm comfortable, like, with making the long trek to wherever we have to go, but, like, you know, still, like, within the age and experience range where it makes sense for me to be traveling with a mentor. Still, like that, like, that kind of vibe.

34
00:11:54.000 --> 00:11:55.000
<v Speaker B>Okay. Yeah.

35
00:11:55.000 --> 00:12:02.000
<v Speaker D>So happy with us. Nobody's romancing each other yet. We made it, what, 15 minutes?

36
00:12:02.000 --> 00:12:12.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. But if you and Aubrey are romancing each other and Dusty is just there awkwardly in the corner hearing your romance, thoughts, and feelings, that is awful.

37
00:12:12.000 --> 00:12:14.000
<v Speaker B>But it's very funny.

38
00:12:14.000 --> 00:12:27.000
<v Speaker D>It is funny. I mean, that's what happens in, like, literally anything we play. Everybody else gets to hear it.

39
00:12:27.000 --> 00:12:55.000
<v Speaker B>I, I. Yeah, I do. Like, and also, like, two years is enough for, like, us to be, like, working together for, like, doing, like, these, like, taking down breakers. We already have, like, a system, and it's already been, like, polished, and we know what we're doing. And then we have Aubrey's character jump again. Like, maybe, like, I don't know, like, what do you think? Are we, like, within the past six months? Past year?

40
00:12:55.000 --> 00:13:03.000
<v Speaker C>Yeah, I'd say, like, six. This is my first time that we're doing this, but it's still, like, I haven't hit, like, the year mark.

41
00:13:03.000 --> 00:13:05.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, okay.

42
00:13:05.000 --> 00:13:22.000
<v Speaker D>Like, you can live, but, you know, you're. You're probably, like, I don't know, making. I don't want to say, like, dumb mistakes, like, you're doing it on purpose or something. But it's like you haven't checked your blind spot yet, you know?

43
00:13:22.000 --> 00:13:23.000
<v Speaker C>Yeah.

44
00:13:23.000 --> 00:13:31.000
<v Speaker D>You don't know what your blind spot is yet. Like, that kind of vibe.

45
00:13:31.000 --> 00:13:42.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. And then, Aubry, this is obviously your first bond. Aki, I assume that this is your first bond as well.

46
00:13:42.000 --> 00:13:54.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, I think it. I think it makes sense, right? Like, I'm comfortable with going the academy route, so I don't. Yeah. So I think it makes sense that this is the first or my first.

47
00:13:54.000 --> 00:13:58.000
<v Speaker A>And what about you, Dusty?

48
00:13:58.000 --> 00:14:24.000
<v Speaker B>I want to say. Yes, but I want to say that I've been a mentor to many people for a while, so maybe I'm like. I. I don't want to say, like, like, much older, but maybe like, I have, like, 10, 15 years of Rocky's character because I've been here for a minute, but I haven't been, like, bonded to a person yet.

49
00:14:24.000 --> 00:14:28.000
<v Speaker A>Girl, how are you going to be a mentor if you haven't even been bonded?

50
00:14:28.000 --> 00:14:30.000
<v Speaker B>Because I'm good at it.

51
00:14:30.000 --> 00:14:33.000
<v Speaker A>But you can't go out and fight until you have a bond.

52
00:14:33.000 --> 00:14:46.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, I was going to say that. I think maybe I'm sad that I am your. I was like, if I'm your first bond, then I don't think you're my mentor. Like, I don't think. I don't think so. Because it sounds like you need multiple.

53
00:14:46.000 --> 00:14:55.000
<v Speaker B>Well, then isn't, like, breaking a bond, like, very, like. I was gonna say tragic, which is, like, part of it. Very, like, intense.

54
00:14:55.000 --> 00:14:57.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. Very traumatic. Very bad.

55
00:14:57.000 --> 00:15:01.000
<v Speaker D>I mean, maybe you just failed your first student.

56
00:15:01.000 --> 00:15:04.000
<v Speaker B>Hell, yeah. Okay. Second.

57
00:15:04.000 --> 00:15:17.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, it was like you failed your first. You took a break. Game back. Oh, no. You're like, Kratos, I'm Atreus, your second child. The first one died.

58
00:15:17.000 --> 00:15:18.000
<v Speaker B>Christ.

59
00:15:18.000 --> 00:15:19.000
<v Speaker D>That's what happens.

60
00:15:19.000 --> 00:15:25.000
<v Speaker B>I know that's what happened. I had. Jesus Christ. Dad, I'm just curious, saying that you're Atreus.

61
00:15:25.000 --> 00:15:58.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, I'm. I'm Atreus. I'm. I got. Especially in the second. In the second game especially, I think, you know, like, where it's like, I can. I can do some shit, but, like, also, like, I do stupid, maybe, or, like, I need to be at least supervised, but, like, not that supervised. And then Aubrey is. Oh, I'm for Thr. That's Thor's daughter.

62
00:15:58.000 --> 00:16:02.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah.

63
00:16:02.000 --> 00:16:10.000
<v Speaker D>If you don't know if you had. If you didn't play God War Ragnarok, I don't know what you're doing, guys. It was the shit.

64
00:16:10.000 --> 00:16:15.000
<v Speaker C>Five years.

65
00:16:15.000 --> 00:16:16.000
<v Speaker D>My game of the year.

66
00:16:16.000 --> 00:16:24.000
<v Speaker C>They Got a roar Ragnarok and listen to Blood of Kings and a lot of things are going to make sense.

67
00:16:24.000 --> 00:17:05.000
<v Speaker A>Okay, the next thing we do for character creation is picking a paradigm path. You have four basic skills. Power, speed, fabrication, and range. And these are what you use to do fight good. You will have to invoke all of them. Power is how strong you are. Let me go to the actual definitions that are out instead of just sort of vamping. Where are they?

68
00:17:05.000 --> 00:17:08.000
<v Speaker D>What is he gonna do? Just message you later.

69
00:17:08.000 --> 00:17:09.000
<v Speaker A>Yes.

70
00:17:09.000 --> 00:17:16.000
<v Speaker B>7 document page 8 on the page count like on the left side.

71
00:17:16.000 --> 00:18:46.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. So paradigm paths are your comfort and style when you engage in combat. So the sort of earlier a thing is in your paradigm path, the more comfortable you are with it. So power is relying on force in close combat. Speed is relying on doing a bunch of quick attacks and moving quickly. Fabrication is relying on channeling magic, and range is relying on long distance fighting. So you are going to order those four skills based on, like, how comfortable you are and how much you rely on them on combat. So the thing you're best at, the thing you like doing Most gets a 1, and then the thing you like doing the least or that you're worst at gets a four. And those numbers also correspond to the cost, the, like, action, economy, hurt cost for using them in combat. So if power is first on your path order, it is pretty cheap for you to do really powerful attacks. Whereas if power is fourth, then. Then it costs four heart to do even, like one level of power.

72
00:18:46.000 --> 00:18:56.000
<v Speaker B>Okay. You invoking God of War, I'm like, well, it may be power for me and it may be range for you.

73
00:18:56.000 --> 00:18:59.000
<v Speaker D>That's how I was always thinking a range.

74
00:18:59.000 --> 00:19:02.000
<v Speaker C>I was thinking speed.

75
00:19:02.000 --> 00:19:22.000
<v Speaker B>Okay. And then like, as the primary, then, like, you could go down the line, I guess. Power. And then I want to do fabrication as my secondary.

76
00:19:22.000 --> 00:19:28.000
<v Speaker C>I'll do power as my secondary.

77
00:19:28.000 --> 00:19:31.000
<v Speaker D>What is fabrication again?

78
00:19:31.000 --> 00:19:35.000
<v Speaker A>Fabrication is channeling magic.

79
00:19:35.000 --> 00:20:03.000
<v Speaker B>It's like, so you could use that magic to, like, do an effect on the thing. Right? So if I remember correctly, when we did the first sooth wardens, AP in the universe, I use fabrication to, like, kind of make like, I have, like a lasso, like a giant lasso and sustaining it. What would be like, basically keeping it around otherwise, like, this is pure magic.

80
00:20:03.000 --> 00:20:33.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah, we'll jump into it a little later. But basically, there are three types of fabrication. Four types of fabrication. You can do abilities on yourself, like giving yourself an animal form abilities on your dirge, which is your weapon, like giving it electro powers. Abilities on your opponent, like binding them, and abilities on the environment, like causing a rockslide or something. But to use any of those, you need fabrication.

81
00:20:33.000 --> 00:20:44.000
<v Speaker D>I think then maybe I'll do fabrication second and speed third, with power being last. And power is like super physical stuff, right?

82
00:20:44.000 --> 00:20:47.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, yeah.

83
00:20:47.000 --> 00:21:31.000
<v Speaker A>And so I guess to dig into mechanics a little deeper in order to sort of catch and hit a breaker at all, you have this pursuit effectiveness score, which is your speed plus your range. And so that's like are you able to sort of get in contact with them and stay in contact with them. And then in order to actually do damage, you have your damage effectiveness, which is your power plus fabrication. And so they have defense scores that correspond to those. And so if you don't meet that threshold, then you are not going to be able to actually do damage to them.

84
00:21:31.000 --> 00:21:35.000
<v Speaker B>Nice.

85
00:21:35.000 --> 00:21:46.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. So the next thing is talents, I believe.

86
00:21:46.000 --> 00:22:06.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, we get two talents. Which are page 45 in the PDF quick start, or 27, like for the spread count.

87
00:22:06.000 --> 00:22:46.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. So Aubrey, you are the hopper, which means you get the hopper spit. Treat the hopper talent as a free special. But everyone gets to pick two talents. Some of these are to make combat a little easier. There are things that make power, speed, fabrication or range cost less to sustain. And then there are things to make sort of investigation easier. So maybe you can speak all common languages, maybe your reputation is higher, maybe you have a hypersense. But yeah, everyone gets two of those.

88
00:22:46.000 --> 00:22:52.000
<v Speaker C>What are people thinking?

89
00:22:52.000 --> 00:22:59.000
<v Speaker D>I guess it makes sense for me to take marksman for my range.

90
00:22:59.000 --> 00:23:10.000
<v Speaker B>Would that make it cost zero to sustain or for.

91
00:23:10.000 --> 00:23:25.000
<v Speaker A>So if it costs. Because if it would cost zero to sustain, which it would because it's in your path order, then that is for the first two effect levels. So you get your first two effect levels for free and then after that it costs one.

92
00:23:25.000 --> 00:23:27.000
<v Speaker B>Sick.

93
00:23:27.000 --> 00:23:28.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah.

94
00:23:28.000 --> 00:23:42.000
<v Speaker C>And I was probably going to take sprinter. I thought I was thinking possibly a hypersense for one of the other ones thinking either sight or hearing.

95
00:23:42.000 --> 00:23:48.000
<v Speaker B>Thanks.

96
00:23:48.000 --> 00:23:58.000
<v Speaker C>Is ttrpg where I can play at having perfect vision.

97
00:23:58.000 --> 00:24:00.000
<v Speaker B>Gay gamers on one thing and it's disgusting.

98
00:24:00.000 --> 00:24:05.000
<v Speaker C>It's perfect vision.

99
00:24:05.000 --> 00:24:08.000
<v Speaker B>I'm thinking affable and shifter.

100
00:24:08.000 --> 00:24:12.000
<v Speaker A>Okay.

101
00:24:12.000 --> 00:24:39.000
<v Speaker B>Because there's a whole. There's there's like two phases to the game. We have an investigation phase as well. Phase. I don't know if phase is the correct term and Navarro uses. But we have a whole investigation part of the game and then we actually take down the breaker. And also I like making cool shit with the dirge weapons.

102
00:24:39.000 --> 00:24:46.000
<v Speaker A>Absolutely. What about you, Aki, what are you thinking for your second talent?

103
00:24:46.000 --> 00:25:10.000
<v Speaker D>Either uncanny for the fabrication cost thingy or. Or also hypersens. But I would go with either smell or hearing because I don't want perfect vision that way. You can't be like, oh, hindsight 20 20. Shut up, bitch. I just.

104
00:25:10.000 --> 00:25:11.000
<v Speaker A>It's.

105
00:25:11.000 --> 00:25:33.000
<v Speaker D>It's definitely. It's. It's. It's one or the other. Both sound good. Linguist is also fun, but, like, it'd be funny if I could hear everything and not understand. It'd be like, they are speaking, you know? But, yeah, I'm not sure just yet.

106
00:25:33.000 --> 00:25:47.000
<v Speaker B>If. Yeah, choose one of the ones that does the thing. I think if you click the talent on the thing, that makes sure. Like, it's the minus one. Is that right? Alyssa? Since you've made this sheet, I think.

107
00:25:47.000 --> 00:26:03.000
<v Speaker A>Yes. So on the character keeper, if you pick a talent that is related to a specific paradigm path, please check the little checkbox in the column or about the paradigm path so that it maths right. And you don't have to do math.

108
00:26:03.000 --> 00:26:06.000
<v Speaker D>How do I know if it's mathing right?

109
00:26:06.000 --> 00:26:08.000
<v Speaker A>It is because you clicked it.

110
00:26:08.000 --> 00:26:11.000
<v Speaker D>Oh,

111
00:26:11.000 --> 00:26:16.000
<v Speaker A>I. If you want to unhide a formula sheet, you can, but we'll get into it.

112
00:26:16.000 --> 00:26:22.000
<v Speaker D>I just mean it doesn't look like anything's changed. Like, when I clicked it. That's what I mean.

113
00:26:22.000 --> 00:26:29.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. It'll return different things based on whether or not you have that box clicked.

114
00:26:29.000 --> 00:26:36.000
<v Speaker B>It's a resource management game for the stuff. So you're not seeing anything now because you haven't allocated any resources.

115
00:26:36.000 --> 00:26:37.000
<v Speaker D>Oh, I see. Okay.

116
00:26:37.000 --> 00:26:39.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, yeah, yeah.

117
00:26:39.000 --> 00:26:48.000
<v Speaker D>Damn. Okay, now that I also said hyper, like, hypersense hearing and linguist out loud. I kind of want them both now.

118
00:26:48.000 --> 00:26:49.000
<v Speaker A>Any good?

119
00:26:49.000 --> 00:26:54.000
<v Speaker B>I hear everything you hear and understand all.

120
00:26:54.000 --> 00:26:59.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, exactly. It's just like these nosy bitches.

121
00:26:59.000 --> 00:27:05.000
<v Speaker C>You just walk over, set down drinks, and just be like, I have all of the tea in the bar.

122
00:27:05.000 --> 00:27:23.000
<v Speaker D>I kind of want that. I kind of want that. It's funny. I'm gonna do that instead. So I'm taking linguist in the hypersense hearing. I'll just pretend or assume that my path order will. Will get me through it. Yeah.

123
00:27:23.000 --> 00:27:30.000
<v Speaker A>I mean, there are two of you. Like, two more of you. So they can carry you, probably. I'm sure it'll be fine.

124
00:27:30.000 --> 00:27:41.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah. Like, this is why. That's why I got a bow or something. Guys, I'm over here. I'm all the way back here. It's better.

125
00:27:41.000 --> 00:28:03.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. The next thing to think about are Motivations and fears. Motivations are why you opened yourself up to being a sooth warden. Goals that might feel clear, might fluctuate, but, yeah, just sort of what you're working towards.

126
00:28:03.000 --> 00:28:08.000
<v Speaker B>Do we. Is it just like, one, or do we do a couple?

127
00:28:08.000 --> 00:28:10.000
<v Speaker A>Let's just do one.

128
00:28:10.000 --> 00:28:12.000
<v Speaker B>Okay.

129
00:28:12.000 --> 00:28:25.000
<v Speaker C>I'm leaning towards some, like, the idea of, like, proving myself because I'm so incredibly new at this. Like, proving that I can do this and that. Like, it's. It's a. I'm a good choice for this.

130
00:28:25.000 --> 00:28:33.000
<v Speaker A>Absolutely. What about you, Dusty? Are you trying to prove that you're not going to murder all your students? Or what's your motivation?

131
00:28:33.000 --> 00:29:27.000
<v Speaker B>Okay, okay, hold up. All right. It was one person. That's not all of the action. Wait. I think that's maybe going to go more towards my fear. I think my motivation is more so to provide, like, stop the breakers. To help and feel. To not feel powerless. Because I imagine I became a mentor and, like, did all this because something happened at one point or another where, like, I couldn't stop something because I didn't have the ability to. And now I don't want that to happen. So my motivation is to not feel powerless. Does that make sense?

132
00:29:27.000 --> 00:29:29.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. Absolutely.

133
00:29:29.000 --> 00:29:32.000
<v Speaker B>Sick.

134
00:29:32.000 --> 00:29:48.000
<v Speaker D>I just watched the pilot episode of Game Over Verse. So I'm just gonna steal theirs because I think it makes sense here because I can save more people if I'm helping.

135
00:29:48.000 --> 00:29:49.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah.

136
00:29:49.000 --> 00:30:12.000
<v Speaker D>Which y' all should watch Game over versus the New Glitch. Indie animation. It's only a pilot, which means the more people that watch the board. Potential. It has to get funding. The Furries are gonna love it. But it's very interesting. The premise is very interesting.

137
00:30:12.000 --> 00:30:17.000
<v Speaker A>But what if I only care about Knights of Guinevere getting funding?

138
00:30:17.000 --> 00:30:44.000
<v Speaker D>Well, that's a. Guinevere did get funding. You just gotta wait for it to come out now. And while you wait, maybe you can watch Game Over Verse and experience the. Honestly, it's. It's very interesting. I think it's exactly what Adi Shankar tries to do and fails every time. It's exactly him.

139
00:30:44.000 --> 00:30:48.000
<v Speaker B>So that's your motivation

140
00:30:48.000 --> 00:30:50.000
<v Speaker D>to defeat Adi Shankar? Mortal Kombat.

141
00:30:50.000 --> 00:30:52.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah.

142
00:30:52.000 --> 00:30:56.000
<v Speaker B>They're in the game now. Alyssa better find out who they are.

143
00:30:56.000 --> 00:31:05.000
<v Speaker D>That's the thing we gotta fight is. No, it's. It's. I can. It's to help people.

144
00:31:05.000 --> 00:31:31.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. Okay. And how about your fear? It can be something more abstract, like Dusty fearing, like, losing a student or getting one of their partners killed. Or it can be very literal and material, like scared of the Dark, scared of swarms. Scared of drowning.

145
00:31:31.000 --> 00:31:36.000
<v Speaker D>I was gonna say I was thinking of putting drowning because I thought that'd be really funny.

146
00:31:36.000 --> 00:31:39.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah, it's gonna come up. Yeah.

147
00:31:39.000 --> 00:31:45.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah. I was like, can I have. Can I have two fears? I know it's just one, but can I have two just for the sake of flavor?

148
00:31:45.000 --> 00:31:48.000
<v Speaker A>Sure.

149
00:31:48.000 --> 00:32:30.000
<v Speaker D>Again, yeah. Like what? Oh, God forbid. I want this two shot to have some flavor anyways. Definitely I'm gonna put drown. I think I'm gonna put drowning. I think that makes sense because that's a pretty scary way to go. And other fear will be that. That people. People dying directly by my involvement. Not me killing them per se, but me. Like for example, not killing them, not killing the monster fast enough. You know what I mean? So it's like I'm scared of the collateral damage of.

150
00:32:30.000 --> 00:32:33.000
<v Speaker B>Of

151
00:32:33.000 --> 00:32:36.000
<v Speaker D>goodness casualties. There you go.

152
00:32:36.000 --> 00:32:52.000
<v Speaker C>I will also follow Naki's path and do two. One more real, one more esoteric. I'm going to do heights and then I'm going to do the. Having my death be meaningless.

153
00:32:52.000 --> 00:32:56.000
<v Speaker B>See, mine is also technically two because it's Lucy the student.

154
00:32:56.000 --> 00:33:02.000
<v Speaker A>There's two of us.

155
00:33:02.000 --> 00:33:05.000
<v Speaker D>Good.

156
00:33:05.000 --> 00:34:04.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. The next thing are fabrication abilities. Fabrication is your magic. And you have a set ability that you are able to change, but it costs sort of time and effort to do so. So you have an ability to affect yourself. So change your augment, like growing spikes or transforming into an animal. You have a fabrication ability related to your dirge, which is your weapon. So imbuing it with an element, creating trick arrows, setting a trap. If you think like someone's gonna take it. There's an ability related to your opponent. So magically restraining them, moving them, otherwise disrupting them. And there is a fabrication ability related to the environment. So controlling elements, pulling a foot into the ground, drawing heat from the air to make fire, controlling the branches of a tree.

157
00:34:04.000 --> 00:34:08.000
<v Speaker D>Is there a list of them or is it like whatever the fuck we want?

158
00:34:08.000 --> 00:34:28.000
<v Speaker A>It's whatever you want. Page 13 spread. Page 11 has the examples that I just listed. But as long as it is something impacting the thing, so something impacting self, dirge, opponent, environment, then you can do it. You can use it.

159
00:34:28.000 --> 00:34:39.000
<v Speaker D>Oh yeah. This on Navarre game for a fact. Look at how many boxes are in heart. You're gonna come into my dance, be

160
00:34:39.000 --> 00:34:45.000
<v Speaker A>like, what is that supposed to mean? I don't know what that means.

161
00:34:45.000 --> 00:34:47.000
<v Speaker B>It's the same elements as the corrupted 20.

162
00:34:47.000 --> 00:35:00.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, I was like that love numbers. Actually. Two stats, but like, were you sure about that? It's

163
00:35:00.000 --> 00:35:08.000
<v Speaker B>so basically we choose one ourselves. The weapon, the opponent and the environment. Right.

164
00:35:08.000 --> 00:35:20.000
<v Speaker A>And then if in the fight you're like I want to do something else that is improvised magic, which costs 8 which is much more expensive than having it prepped.

165
00:35:20.000 --> 00:35:37.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah. That's why I took shifter for my weapon. Okay. If I remember correctly, like at one point Navarro has described like the magic and like the combat to be similar to Castlevania. Is that correct?

166
00:35:37.000 --> 00:35:41.000
<v Speaker A>That is correct. The Castlevania anime specifically, which is very

167
00:35:41.000 --> 00:35:44.000
<v Speaker B>sick looking because that's all inside of it.

168
00:35:44.000 --> 00:35:46.000
<v Speaker D>It's so good.

169
00:35:46.000 --> 00:36:16.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah. Yes. So like I think that's like what I have in mind for. I almost want to do like for myself to have like some like like magical armor basically to appear. But could it be like magical armor but like increases my speed. So I guess like grieves. Lightning grieves maybe.

170
00:36:16.000 --> 00:36:19.000
<v Speaker A>No,

171
00:36:19.000 --> 00:36:20.000
<v Speaker B>no.

172
00:36:19.000 --> 00:36:24.000
<v Speaker A>I was going to say yes and then you said lightning greaves. So now.

173
00:36:24.000 --> 00:36:27.000
<v Speaker B>Okay, so I'm gonna write thunder griefs.

174
00:36:27.000 --> 00:36:30.000
<v Speaker A>Why would thunder make you faster?

175
00:36:30.000 --> 00:36:32.000
<v Speaker B>Boom.

176
00:36:32.000 --> 00:36:38.000
<v Speaker D>It makes you think of the spongebob meme. Does somebody say boom and then you hit the dynamite.

177
00:36:38.000 --> 00:36:46.000
<v Speaker B>I don't understand your Gen Z anime spongebob.

178
00:36:46.000 --> 00:36:57.000
<v Speaker D>Miss your squarepants. What's his voice? Tom Kenny? Is that his voice actor? That guy?

179
00:36:57.000 --> 00:37:07.000
<v Speaker B>What? What? So remind me, Alyssa, for our dirge. Is our dirge already a weapon that we alter or.

180
00:37:07.000 --> 00:37:47.000
<v Speaker A>Yes. So your dirge starts as a smooth metallic rod about a foot long. Many wardens will chisel in glyphs to personalize it, but because you are able to shift it into whatever form you want it to be. So if you're like, wow, I can't fight with a metal stick. I want a bow. You can shift your dirge into the shape of a bow and use it like that or into a sword. And so you having the shifter means that you are able to do that at will. Otherwise it costs resources to shift the form of your weapon.

181
00:37:47.000 --> 00:38:00.000
<v Speaker B>And then like using the dirt, like using the fabrication would be basically like this is a bow and arrow, but it's going to shoot lasers or fire or lightning or whatever.

182
00:38:00.000 --> 00:38:22.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah, it would be like this is a bone arrow, but it shoots fire arrows. Or it shoots like trick arrows that release a net or something. Also put it in the fabrication abilities section, not the dirge aspects. Dusty, I can't read.

183
00:38:22.000 --> 00:38:32.000
<v Speaker C>For like my self abilities for fabrication. I was thinking of something that would make like almost thinking traversal easier.

184
00:38:32.000 --> 00:38:58.000
<v Speaker A>So there is an ability to fly. You just have to spend fabrication to do it. But so that's one thing. You will be traversing underwater quite a bit. So if you wanted to be like, traversal is easier because I can breathe underwater. That would not be a terrible idea.

185
00:38:58.000 --> 00:39:04.000
<v Speaker B>So we'll take underwater breathing. That's so smart. I'm not doing that.

186
00:39:04.000 --> 00:39:05.000
<v Speaker C>Yeah, that works for me.

187
00:39:05.000 --> 00:39:14.000
<v Speaker A>Or for example, I just pasted in some abilities that Dusty and Ferris used.

188
00:39:14.000 --> 00:39:15.000
<v Speaker B>Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

189
00:39:15.000 --> 00:39:21.000
<v Speaker A>For this last game, such as make sharp and Storm Wings.

190
00:39:21.000 --> 00:39:37.000
<v Speaker B>Okay, you don't have to read that one aloud. Yeah, I was gonna bring that one because I basically I made like metal wings that like, would. I could double as like weapons,

191
00:39:37.000 --> 00:39:50.000
<v Speaker D>swap places with Socorro. Protect Socorro. Not gay at all. That was gay.

192
00:39:50.000 --> 00:39:52.000
<v Speaker B>It was very gay.

193
00:39:52.000 --> 00:39:55.000
<v Speaker A>It was very. Yeah, it was.

194
00:39:55.000 --> 00:40:00.000
<v Speaker B>Was it last year's Pride for Game Master Monday or. No,

195
00:40:00.000 --> 00:40:07.000
<v Speaker A>not. I mean, I think it might have been in June, but it wasn't like explicitly intentionally. Pride.

196
00:40:07.000 --> 00:40:10.000
<v Speaker B>It just happened to be the same time. That's okay.

197
00:40:10.000 --> 00:40:19.000
<v Speaker C>I might steal a returning because I, because I'm thinking like, because I, I, I attack fast. So like throwing daggers or something like that.

198
00:40:19.000 --> 00:40:22.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

199
00:40:22.000 --> 00:40:39.000
<v Speaker B>I think I want to make like, whatever weapon I have to like be stunning. Like whenever they get hit by with it. Like they, you know, like the stun animation from Elden Ring. You hear the, the sound effect and they, they stagger.

200
00:40:39.000 --> 00:40:42.000
<v Speaker A>Oh, not just that it's real pretty.

201
00:40:42.000 --> 00:40:46.000
<v Speaker B>It could be both. Two things could be.

202
00:40:46.000 --> 00:41:28.000
<v Speaker D>Okay, I have a couple ideas for the self. Okay. Invisibility was one because I feel like it makes sense. The other one was teleportation, but specifically nightcrawlers teleportation. So it's short distances, but I can use it frequently. You know, like just like that instead of like, for example, like DND level teleportation. Like I'm not jumping continents, but I, I can definitely, for example, maybe cross a river with like a couple Bamps, you know, like that.

203
00:41:28.000 --> 00:41:32.000
<v Speaker B>So there's. Get yourself out of like combat.

204
00:41:32.000 --> 00:42:06.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, yeah, that's what I was thinking where it's like, I. Speed is not my best suit, but I have something for mobility. It's just, you know, it's, it's a little magic. The other one was actually turning myself into an animal. But then I was like, damn. I really wanted to meme it being like a guinea pig. Just a guinea pig. Not even a swarm of guinea pigs. It would have been funny. But like any other animal also works too. Those are like some ideas.

205
00:42:06.000 --> 00:42:17.000
<v Speaker B>What if you could turn into a sea creature because we're going to be. Which will make your fear of drowning very ironic.

206
00:42:17.000 --> 00:42:20.000
<v Speaker A>Well if you turn into a fish then you can drown on land.

207
00:42:20.000 --> 00:42:22.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah.

208
00:42:22.000 --> 00:42:28.000
<v Speaker D>Does that turning into an animal, like is it a specific animal? Like is that what it is?

209
00:42:28.000 --> 00:42:30.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah, I think you have to pick a specific animal.

210
00:42:30.000 --> 00:42:41.000
<v Speaker D>I see. Okay, turn to a tiger. So I'm a good swimmer but like I'm a strong swimmer. I just can't breathe under water.

211
00:42:41.000 --> 00:42:44.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah, yeah,

212
00:42:44.000 --> 00:42:46.000
<v Speaker D>let's go. Let's do that.

213
00:42:46.000 --> 00:42:52.000
<v Speaker A>Turn into tiger.

214
00:42:52.000 --> 00:43:07.000
<v Speaker D>That's hilarious too. Like I would. I like, like that's, that's my counter for not being strong. Atreus could turn into a bear. Maybe I should change it to a bear.

215
00:43:07.000 --> 00:43:16.000
<v Speaker A>I mean unlike dnd, you don't get the animal stats of the thing you turn into. So you would be still a weak bear, but.

216
00:43:16.000 --> 00:43:35.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, exactly. I would be a very. Scare people away. That's why I'm thinking, that's why I was thinking, like I don't think I get anyone else's stats. I have to keep my stats. So I don't know if turning into an animal is actually the best thing for me because I'd be a very weak animal. That's where the guinea pig came in.

217
00:43:35.000 --> 00:43:37.000
<v Speaker A>Oh, I'd be so.

218
00:43:37.000 --> 00:43:54.000
<v Speaker D>Nah, I like the. I think the bam thing makes more sense. The night crawlers. Yeah, that's what I'll put as a. So that way we're like aware of the range and dirge is our weapon. Right.

219
00:43:54.000 --> 00:44:00.000
<v Speaker A>Dirt is your weapon. So what extra effect does your weapon do?

220
00:44:00.000 --> 00:44:34.000
<v Speaker D>Trick arrows. Trick arrows make sense because I am thinking of like. Yeah, like what's, what's to stop. What's to stop from my, from like magicking my arrows mid flight, you know, so that way it's extra precision if they're funny like that. I shoot one and I magic it just to say when it hits.

221
00:44:34.000 --> 00:44:36.000
<v Speaker A>And you can do it in every language, so.

222
00:44:36.000 --> 00:44:43.000
<v Speaker D>Exactly. Exactly. Fuck you specifically, you know,

223
00:44:43.000 --> 00:44:50.000
<v Speaker C>for opponent. Something like maybe slowing their reaction times, muddling their senses.

224
00:44:50.000 --> 00:45:09.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, I want to do Polymorph to like transform them to things, but maybe not all at once. Like maybe I could like they're trying to hit me with their big hand and I turn into a tiny, tiny hand.

225
00:45:09.000 --> 00:45:11.000
<v Speaker A>I hate that example.

226
00:45:11.000 --> 00:45:20.000
<v Speaker D>But yeah, sure, yeah, I shrink them. Thank you League of Legends. Aram shrink. I shrink them. I hit him.

227
00:45:20.000 --> 00:45:22.000
<v Speaker B>Legends in here.

228
00:45:22.000 --> 00:45:54.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, because an Aram mayhem, that's one of the abilities you can get at random. I'm sorry, shrink ray. That's what I'm thinking. I can shrink. Or maybe not, like, the full thing. I think maybe, like, I shrink what I hit or something like that, but it just makes sense that I make it smaller. So if we're fighting, like, a large creature and they have a large hand, I'm just gonna turn it to a little baby hand.

229
00:45:54.000 --> 00:45:59.000
<v Speaker B>Well, the. The breakers are usually giant creatures, right, Alyssa?

230
00:45:59.000 --> 00:46:30.000
<v Speaker A>No, not necessarily. I just threw a God at you as a breaker. But it can be any size. There's actually a roll table for it. It can be, like a swarm of very tiny things up to, like, a single giant thing or a pair of large things. I see a cluster of medium things

231
00:46:30.000 --> 00:46:39.000
<v Speaker B>for environment. And I realize that it's not necessarily useful since we're going to a cold ship, but I would like to freeze the environment.

232
00:46:39.000 --> 00:46:43.000
<v Speaker A>I mean, if you freeze it, then you can just, like, walk on water.

233
00:46:43.000 --> 00:46:44.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, exactly.

234
00:46:43.000 --> 00:46:45.000
<v Speaker A>Could totally be useful.

235
00:46:45.000 --> 00:47:00.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah. Freeze the water around the breaker if they're in the water. Yeah,

236
00:47:00.000 --> 00:47:08.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. One of the examples for small creatures is a swarm of small bears who spit fireballs.

237
00:47:08.000 --> 00:47:16.000
<v Speaker B>What the fuck apart? That would shit up 100%.

238
00:47:16.000 --> 00:47:25.000
<v Speaker A>But, yeah, if you want to think of environment as just sort of picking an element that you can control, that is a fair way to think about it.

239
00:47:25.000 --> 00:47:40.000
<v Speaker C>Electricity or lightning, I guess more of a shocking. Electricity really isn't the thing in the setting, but lightning is.

240
00:47:40.000 --> 00:47:44.000
<v Speaker D>It'd be so funny. And give myself water

241
00:47:44.000 --> 00:47:47.000
<v Speaker C>to it. Be your own.

242
00:47:47.000 --> 00:47:53.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah, that's. It seems wild. The drowning is still your fear if you can control water.

243
00:47:53.000 --> 00:47:55.000
<v Speaker D>I never said I control it.

244
00:47:55.000 --> 00:48:03.000
<v Speaker A>Well, maybe that's why you can control. Control it too, right? Like, yeah. Trying to master your fear.

245
00:48:03.000 --> 00:48:11.000
<v Speaker D>I'm scared of drowning. It doesn't mean that my ability to control water will prevent me from drowning.

246
00:48:11.000 --> 00:48:16.000
<v Speaker B>It's like the more you are aware of something, this carrier becomes.

247
00:48:16.000 --> 00:48:24.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, it's more like, you know, like, it's like exposure therapy. Doesn't always work, y'.

248
00:48:24.000 --> 00:48:26.000
<v Speaker A>All.

249
00:48:26.000 --> 00:49:25.000
<v Speaker D>That's the best way to put it. That's why it's. It's a potential therapy type. And I. And, like, I think, you know, for example, parting the water, right? Like, splitting it apart so that way I walk on the seabed. Makes sense for something that I would do, right? I don't necessarily. Like, I'm. Maybe I can't swim. And that is, like, kind of what I do. Like, I make it so I can walk or whatever or it. Like, that's also why I got this. This teleportation. Okay. Like, I just. I need. I need help. The Other idea was fire, which I think was also funny. Like, you freeze things, and I just melt when you freeze. But, yeah, no, I think I might go with water. It is funny, but, like, also useful.

250
00:49:25.000 --> 00:49:39.000
<v Speaker A>I mean, freeze to fire to electricity is a great little triad arc because you get the frozen effect, then you melt it so they're wet, and then the lightning does extra damage, and then you freeze them again.

251
00:49:39.000 --> 00:49:48.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, that's true. That's true. That's true. Okay, I'll go with fire then. I mean, we'll be fucking cold. We'll be fucking cold there.

252
00:49:48.000 --> 00:49:57.000
<v Speaker A>I was gonna say. Yeah. The other thing is having fire is use because he'll be cold.

253
00:49:57.000 --> 00:50:07.000
<v Speaker D>My fear of drowning continues to make sense no matter what I do.

254
00:50:07.000 --> 00:50:19.000
<v Speaker A>Okay, do you want to, just for the listeners, go down and name each of your fabrication abilities?

255
00:50:19.000 --> 00:50:53.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, I could go. So for my fabrication abilities, myself is like, thunder boots are boots that, like, help me go faster. Made of magic. The effect that I get from my weapon is a stunning effect. I could polymorph or, like, transform the opponent to probably stuff that's, like, more harmless. And I could freeze. The environment.

256
00:50:53.000 --> 00:51:08.000
<v Speaker C>For mine, I have. For myself, I have underwater breathing. My dirge is returning. For opponent, I can muddle their senses. And for environment, it's lightning.

257
00:51:08.000 --> 00:51:47.000
<v Speaker D>And for myself, I have, very specifically, Nightcrawler's teleportation. Teleporting short distances, but more frequently than a big one. My dirge are trick arrows. My opponent fabrication is I can shrink them, and my environment is fire. We got a solid gym going on here. A solid elite 4 3.

258
00:51:47.000 --> 00:52:03.000
<v Speaker A>Okay, and what form does your dirge take? What is the sort of base type of weapon that you use? Dusty, Obviously you get to change yours up, but do you have one that you sort of default to?

259
00:52:03.000 --> 00:52:18.000
<v Speaker B>I really. I'm, like, thinking of, like, the vibes of the character, and I think, like, a scythe would be sick also. Very foreboding for my students.

260
00:52:18.000 --> 00:52:19.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah.

261
00:52:18.000 --> 00:52:22.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah.

262
00:52:22.000 --> 00:52:27.000
<v Speaker C>For me, it's like throwing daggers or throwing. Just like, a throwing dagger.

263
00:52:27.000 --> 00:52:56.000
<v Speaker D>A big fucking bow. Like, a ridiculously big one. Like, there's a long bow, and then there's whatever monster hunter does, you know? Like, I want to. Yeah. Like, I want a bow. Like, I think it's okay. It is a. One of those retractable ones. So when it's not a bow, it just looks like a giant walking stick. But, like, yeah, the bow is bigger than me. Like that. Like a ridiculously big bow.

264
00:52:56.000 --> 00:52:58.000
<v Speaker A>Retractable bow.

265
00:52:58.000 --> 00:53:06.000
<v Speaker B>Like the great bows in Elder Ring, where You take it out and like it extends out.

266
00:53:06.000 --> 00:53:07.000
<v Speaker C>It unfolds twice.

267
00:53:07.000 --> 00:53:08.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah, basically.

268
00:53:08.000 --> 00:53:12.000
<v Speaker D>Yeah, yeah. Like a bow straight out of Ruby, you know, like just.

269
00:53:12.000 --> 00:53:13.000
<v Speaker B>Oh yeah.

270
00:53:13.000 --> 00:53:42.000
<v Speaker D>Like it didn't need. It didn't need to. To get even bigger. I think the boat really, really does double as a, like a, as like a walking stick slash, like staff. Like I could. I know not even a staff. I think it's a large club because it's like it's retractable. Right. So it's thicker but like that it's. It's mainly. Its main use is bow time.

271
00:53:42.000 --> 00:53:49.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. And then Aubrey, did you say that this is your first hunt or it is not, but you've only been doing it for six months.

272
00:53:49.000 --> 00:53:57.000
<v Speaker C>It's like second or it's like third or fourth maybe like it's. I've done a few, but I'm still very green.

273
00:53:57.000 --> 00:55:09.000
<v Speaker A>Great. So each of you is going to get a dirge aspect. And what this is, is after you defeat a breaker, your dirge can absorb its power. And so you get a one time use basically special power that you can channel through your dirge. So this comes from previous hunts, previous breakers that you have defeated, but it can be literally anything. My min maxing tip for Melissa is to have your special dirge aspect be something that you are not good at. So if you're bad at range, but your dirge aspect is a sort of really far reaching attack of some sort, then that is helpful because it doesn't cost anything to use. It's just that you only get to use it once per battle. Basically. Basically.

274
00:55:09.000 --> 00:55:48.000
<v Speaker B>Okay. So I think for mine one range is my worst, but I was thinking that my aspect is from my first bond and it was something that like teleports via. Like, like I, I want it to be like I throw it and it like I teleport to it, but it's like extending the like with a very long chain, basically. But it's a.

275
00:55:48.000 --> 00:55:49.000
<v Speaker A>Okay.

276
00:55:49.000 --> 00:55:50.000
<v Speaker B>Breaker chain.

277
00:55:50.000 --> 00:55:54.000
<v Speaker A>Yeah. I mean it could be like a plant type thing.

278
00:55:54.000 --> 00:56:00.000
<v Speaker B>I think like literally like it was like a metal creature. So it's like scales extending.

279
00:56:00.000 --> 00:56:03.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. It's not like a horrible frog tongue.

280
00:56:03.000 --> 00:56:11.000
<v Speaker B>No, no, not this time.

281
00:56:11.000 --> 00:56:35.000
<v Speaker C>Idea of fighting the creature I thought was like some sort of very big, very like very big like large serrated teeth. So my blades. Sorry, that.

282
00:56:35.000 --> 00:57:19.000
<v Speaker D>So I'm trying, I'm trying to do the mid maxing thing because I like that too. And power is my, my weakest which is forcing close combat. Okay. So I think previous fight I did get into an issue with the close combat. And so I think based off of that I have learned to essentially if the. If the enemy were to ever get too close to me, I could just backflip off of them.

283
00:57:19.000 --> 00:57:25.000
<v Speaker B>Like an emergency shoot. Almost something like that in the ejector.

284
00:57:25.000 --> 00:57:28.000
<v Speaker A>But specifically backflip.

285
00:57:28.000 --> 00:58:41.000
<v Speaker D>Like I'm thinking of it like a backflip to create distance. But also like I get. I get a free shot in. So it is still a trick shot when you think about it. It's more so my reaction time is better. I can only do it once anyways. So it would be like a. Think of it like a no penalty up close shot while also giving me distance. If you were to think about it that way, it's that or it's the fucking limit break that bards get in Final Fantasy where it's a volley of arrows from the heavens. I mean it is sick. Both are good. I was like thinking of mid magnitude. I was like a volley of arrows like. Like fire arrows or some like that mass like duplication. Something like. Yeah, yeah. Like think think like in. In every like periodic military movie where it's like oh, oh that's like. That's like a hundred arrows in the sky.

286
00:58:41.000 --> 00:58:43.000
<v Speaker A>Huh?

287
00:58:43.000 --> 00:58:51.000
<v Speaker D>Like that. I shoot one in the sky, the sky gives me 100. I don't know, something like that.

288
00:58:51.000 --> 00:58:52.000
<v Speaker C>Multiple.

289
00:58:52.000 --> 00:59:13.000
<v Speaker D>It's literally. It's literally the. Literally the barred limit break in Final Fantasy on online. I saw it. My sister showed it to me. I was like that. That's the most aura I've ever fucking seen in this game. So yeah, I think that makes sense.

290
00:59:13.000 --> 00:59:23.000
<v Speaker A>Of that. And the final part of character creation. Names and pronouns.

291
00:59:23.000 --> 00:59:26.000
<v Speaker C>I have a first name.

292
00:59:26.000 --> 00:59:27.000
<v Speaker B>Sick.

293
00:59:26.000 --> 00:59:33.000
<v Speaker C>I don't have a last name. I will figure that out. My first name is Saskia.

294
00:59:33.000 --> 00:59:35.000
<v Speaker D>Sasuke.

295
00:59:35.000 --> 00:59:37.000
<v Speaker C>Saskia.

296
00:59:37.000 --> 00:59:45.000
<v Speaker A>That means you have to be Naruto and make Dusty feel so awkward. Third wheeling.

297
00:59:45.000 --> 00:59:50.000
<v Speaker B>I think I want to be a grumpy he him for once.

298
00:59:50.000 --> 00:59:53.000
<v Speaker A>Is that not Yuri?

299
00:59:53.000 --> 00:59:59.000
<v Speaker B>Excuse me? They are they he. How dare you. Yes they are.

300
00:59:59.000 --> 01:00:07.000
<v Speaker D>I would still use he him then in that case like it would.

301
01:00:07.000 --> 01:00:18.000
<v Speaker B>Because of like a recent Want to be queen.

302
01:00:18.000 --> 01:00:19.000
<v Speaker D>No.

303
01:00:19.000 --> 01:00:23.000
<v Speaker B>Last thing. Like share

304
01:00:23.000 --> 01:00:24.000
<v Speaker C>share.

305
01:00:24.000 --> 01:00:29.000
<v Speaker B>No share.

306
01:00:29.000 --> 01:00:40.000
<v Speaker D>Okay. Name wise, I think like Kamari. But surname. I'm still thinking of a surname

307
01:00:40.000 --> 01:00:52.000
<v Speaker A>that is all good. You don't need a surname if you don't want to come up with one. If it's helpful for your character creation, fine. But it's probably not going to come up.

308
01:00:52.000 --> 01:00:55.000
<v Speaker B>I'm not going to have a Last name?

309
01:00:55.000 --> 01:00:58.000
<v Speaker D>I'm going to go with a she. They. Because why not?

310
01:00:58.000 --> 01:01:02.000
<v Speaker C>Yeah.

311
01:01:02.000 --> 01:01:41.000
<v Speaker A>Okay. So as wardens, you are all linked to each other in a way that means that you can feel each other's feelings and have a sense of each other's thoughts. How do you feel about the link? You can turn it off, but it is like a costly, slightly costly process and you need to have it open in order to use your powers so you can get respite if you need it, but sort of by default, it is generally on.

312
01:01:41.000 --> 01:01:45.000
<v Speaker C>So that's the third. Just have to listen to the other two. Fucking.

313
01:01:45.000 --> 01:01:55.000
<v Speaker A>Exactly.

314
01:01:55.000 --> 01:01:56.000
<v Speaker B>Yeah.

315
01:01:56.000 --> 01:01:57.000
<v Speaker A>I was going to say.

316
01:01:57.000 --> 01:01:59.000
<v Speaker C>You go. Go ahead.

317
01:01:59.000 --> 01:02:06.000
<v Speaker A>I was just gonna say it does have to listen to the lead up, though, and to feel all the, like, butterflies leading up to it.

318
01:02:06.000 --> 01:02:07.000
<v Speaker C>Yeah, I think I'm.

319
01:02:07.000 --> 01:02:09.000
<v Speaker A>I think I'm.

320
01:02:09.000 --> 01:02:22.000
<v Speaker C>I think I'm excited and I think it's really cool and really interesting. I don't think I've had it long enough to truly appreciate the downsides of it.

321
01:02:22.000 --> 01:02:46.000
<v Speaker D>I don't like it, and I think it's solely because I don't see the difference about having it and not having it because I can hear everybody and understand them all the time. So it's. It's like a. It's just like a. It's. It's there. I don't care if it's on or off.

322
01:02:46.000 --> 01:02:58.000
<v Speaker B>But, like, what about the difference between, like, you can hear what we say, but then you get the different thing of what we're thinking? What about that?

323
01:02:58.000 --> 01:03:05.000
<v Speaker D>Well, I don't think. I don't think Kamari is autistic, so I think Kamari can read the room pretty well and.

324
01:03:05.000 --> 01:03:10.000
<v Speaker B>Oh, so you're choosing not to. The character. I see.

325
01:03:10.000 --> 01:05:01.000
<v Speaker D>But no, I think I. I think when somebody constantly can hear and understand what's going on around them 24 7, I think a deeper link like, that goes unnoticed. Like, it. It's sort of like, for example, in I saw this. I saw this done in fucking Invincible. But the speedster has troubles communicating with his, like, romantic partner because everybody moves too slowly for him. So, like, having this conversation feels like like fucking hours instead of seconds because everybody's constantly moving too slow. I think in Konmari's case, I always know what's going on. I always know how you're thinking, what you're feeling. I don't need to feel bad either. That's distracting. It makes me confused. Like, I need to focus on myself and I can't because I. Everybody else is too Loud, highly susceptible to, I think crowd reactions. I think think, like, that is the other, like, I would say, issue with the talents. If the mob is angry, I feel influenced to be angry because I'm only hearing anger all the time. Like, I think it's like that. So just this deeper link is now I think I feel very frustrated because it's like, do I feel this way or do you feel this way? And now you're actively making me feel this way. I want to feel my own things. Please.

326
01:05:01.000 --> 01:05:44.000
<v Speaker B>I think in turn, Queen has found a way to not necessarily turn it off. They find a way to kind of like compartmentalize it. So, like, they could kind of turn off the vibes for a moment, but they're also never going to try to fully exclude themselves from it because knowing that the other two are safe is important. So if I could still hear them and, like, know where they are, then I'm at ease.

327
01:05:44.000 --> 01:06:09.000
<v Speaker A>Or Aubrey, the only one who's like, happy and excited about it. Leave me alone. Okay. And then a question just for me. You've been on a ship for about a week. What do you do on the boat? Sort of day to day

328
01:06:09.000 --> 01:06:12.000
<v Speaker C>play cards.

329
01:06:12.000 --> 01:06:15.000
<v Speaker A>Are you good at it? Yeah, it's.

330
01:06:15.000 --> 01:06:23.000
<v Speaker C>It's. I always like to think I'm good at it. I don't know if I am or not. I like to think I am.

331
01:06:23.000 --> 01:06:49.000
<v Speaker B>I think. I think I play cards with them as well. But also like. Researching probably. I probably have, like, try to bring old journals or something. Try to figure out whatever. Like if we know an inkling about something happening, then I want to look into it. So.

332
01:06:49.000 --> 01:07:10.000
<v Speaker D>So I take naps at the Crow's Peak thingy. Crow's nest. I think it's a good way for me to get fresh air, not look at the ocean because I'll be lying down and being away from everybody. Am I allowed to take naps there?

333
01:07:10.000 --> 01:07:11.000
<v Speaker A>Who's to say?

334
01:07:11.000 --> 01:07:15.000
<v Speaker B>I mean, it's horseship, right?

335
01:07:15.000 --> 01:07:19.000
<v Speaker A>No, you were passengers. You are passengers on the ship. It is not your ship.

336
01:07:19.000 --> 01:07:20.000
<v Speaker B>It's our ship.

337
01:07:20.000 --> 01:07:21.000
<v Speaker D>Just let me take a nap, bro.

338
01:07:21.000 --> 01:07:25.000
<v Speaker A>Just. This is the.

339
01:07:25.000 --> 01:07:40.000
<v Speaker D>This is peak napping spot. I like the cool air. I like the. The gentle rocking sometimes. And I'm away from you guys, so you're not. Your thoughts aren't waking me up and influencing my dreams.

340
01:07:40.000 --> 01:07:47.000
<v Speaker A>It's marginally harder to hear everything everyone else on the boat is saying, but you still kind of can.

341
01:07:47.000 --> 01:08:13.000
<v Speaker D>Exactly, Exactly. It'll. It'll be like every other word too. So I'll hear like I don't know, fish smells. And I'll be like, oh, not the fish smell. I'll hear I gay and be like, someone's gay. Like, that's. That. That's what's happen.

342
01:08:13.000 --> 01:08:14.000
<v Speaker B>Oh yeah.

343
01:08:14.000 --> 01:08:19.000
<v Speaker D>Am I trying to spread misinformation to myself?

344
01:08:19.000 --> 01:08:23.000
<v Speaker B>No, perhaps

345
01:08:23.000 --> 01:08:30.000
<v Speaker A>I don't think you should do that. Because then you're also spreading misinformation to the other two.

346
01:08:30.000 --> 01:08:37.000
<v Speaker B>You weren't playing an autistic person.

347
01:08:37.000 --> 01:08:45.000
<v Speaker D>Not unfortunately. I'm playing a too, too typical person.

348
01:08:45.000 --> 01:08:48.000
<v Speaker B>Anything else, Alyssa?

349
01:08:48.000 --> 01:09:10.000
<v Speaker A>No, that is all I have. Sooth Wardens is currently crowdfunding on Backerkit. We'll have a link to that in the episode description. Or you can go to ttrpg link Soothwardens to go back it. Which you should do. I have the quick start and it's lovely and I am super excited for the full game.

350
01:09:10.000 --> 01:09:14.000
<v Speaker B>You should go check it out. Just for the art. Yeah, yeah.

351
01:09:14.000 --> 01:09:18.000
<v Speaker D>True Thord Nart. Real good.

352
01:09:18.000 --> 01:09:21.000
<v Speaker A>A lot of cat girls.

353
01:09:21.000 --> 01:09:27.000
<v Speaker D>Cat girls? Is that what I missed?

354
01:09:27.000 --> 01:09:38.000
<v Speaker A>No, that is Navarre explicitly banned Joe from playing a cat girl. So you know that he's serious about there not being cat girls and Sooth Wardens.

355
01:09:38.000 --> 01:09:51.000
<v Speaker D>He simply doesn't know the backbone of the Final Fantasy online community.

356
01:09:51.000 --> 01:09:53.000
<v Speaker B>Bye.

357
01:09:53.000 --> 01:09:55.000
<v Speaker C>I hope you enjoy the episodes.

358
01:09:55.000 --> 01:09:59.000
<v Speaker A>Bye.
